Hospitals committed financial support for the clinic

Ultimately, the County of Riverside, the City of Indio, and each of the Coachella Valley-based hospitals committed financial support for the clinic.

Our team of Professionals and Volunteers foster a “Culture of Caring”, and a dedication to treating all patients with dignity and respect.

Our Mission is to provide a no-cost primary health care service to medically underserved people residing in the Coachella Valley.

The VIM approach is that the vast majority of care delivered to patients is by volunteer providers.

Most of our volunteers go away feeling like they’ve received more than they’ve given.

A Culture of Caring

The Desert Sun Sunday December 18, 2011 - The Coachella Valley faces many health challenges — low rates of health insurance, high rates of obesity and hunger, and a shortage of primary care physicians in many areas.

However, this year we can celebrate the first anniversary of an organization that is making a dent in the health care needs of the poor, Coachella Valley Volunteers in Medicine (VIM) in Indio.

New clinic will be twice as big
The free clinic opened in November 2010 at 81-880 Dr. Carreon Blvd., near John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital.
